I have a Toshiba 550CDT and a Linksys Combo PCMCIA EthernetCard. Linux runs well using this hardware. However, if something happens to go South, I should be prepared: I have made a set of rescue disks (using the Yard facility) which allow me to restore my files over the network using tar. This disk also seems to work with other systems.
